Kevin Taylor Contributes Brainpower to WBEZ Radio's New Tech Committee

Mar 24, 2011

Kevin Taylor has joined Chicago Public Media's newly formed "Systems Committee," a group that will explore and further develop the organization's technology efforts.

Chicago Public Media operates Chicago Public Radio station WBEZ (91.5 FM) and other media brands. The committee is chaired by Matt Moog, founder and CEO of Viewpoints Network and founder of the outstanding BuiltinChicago organization. Matt will make this committee an advisor and a catalyst for change, and believes Chicago Public Media has a huge opportunity to emerge as an even stronger and important voice in the community.

Half of the committee is comprised of Chicago Public Media board members, while the other half are local digital innovators and tech thought leaders.

Coincidentally, prior to receiving the invite to join the committee, Kevin blogged about WBEZ radio and likened its community of listeners/members to the local Ruby community. In his post, he urged local Rubyists to get more involved and entrenched in the community - to become "members," not just "listeners."

Not to give a sales pitch or tell you what to listen to, but if you're not a fan of Chicago Public Media, you really should be. Chicago is fortunate to have such a quality media resource; the programming is excellent and the local and national news coverageof programming is consistently well written and well produced. And now we can look forward to more innovative uses of technology through the new Systems Committee.
