Obtiva a Hope for Haiti Now Technology Partner

Jun 28, 2010

Obtiva was contacted on Wednesday by Carson Conant over at Mediafly (another cool Chicago technology company). MTV and Palm wanted him to build a special streaming media player so that people could watch the “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon live on their Palm mobile devices and, of course, donate. The event was scheduled for the coming Friday.

Yes, that was less than 72 hours notice. Well, since Obtiva built Mediafly’s streaming media player for the Palm WebOS, Carson thought we might be able to help.

In under 36 hours, Nate Jackson of Obtiva and Aaron Bedra of Relevance were able to customize the core Mediafly WebOS application so that thousands could watch the event live on their Palm Pre and Palm Pixi. As Mediafly blogged, “This speaks to the nimbleness of the Mediafly platform and the talents of the Obtiva team.”
